Lorenzo Polidori

Lorenzo Polidori is a young fingerstyle guitar virtuoso, born in Florence in 1997. Since childhood, he has shown a great interest in the world of music and, when he was only 8 years old, he started studying classical guitar techniques. His passion has gradually led him to become interested in other musical styles as well, until he approached the techniques of Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) as a self-taught artist. At the age of 14, he started studying acoustic guitar techniques at the Lizard Academy of Fiesole, which awarded him as best Italian guitarist of the month (January 2017). Since then, he has devoted himself entirely to the study of fingerpicking techniques and, inspired by artists such as Tommy Emmanuel, Gareth Pearson, Merle Travis, Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed, he has started to study and perfect his techniques with Gareth Pearson.

Lorenzo's musical style is difficult to explain in words: Lorenzo himself defines it simply as "Fingerstyle" guitar but it includes various musical styles such as Ragtime, Country, blues, folk music, genres to which his unpublished songs belong. Lorenzo shared the stage and opened concerts of musicians, singers and guitar virtuosos like: Tommy Emmanuel, Gareth Pearson, Clive Carroll, Frank Vignola, Vinny Raniolo, Andrea Valeri, Michael Manring, Alessandro Finazzo aka Finaz (Bandabardò’s guitarist) , Marco di Maggio, Petra Magoni, Stefano Cantini, Ares Tavolazzi, Matteo Mancuso, Eugenio Finardi, Nada, Steph Burns (Vasco Rossi’s guitarist), Will Hunt (Evanescence’s drummer), Claudio Golinelli (Vasco Rossi’s bassist). In 2017 he won the prestigious acoustic guitar competition "New sounds of Acoustic Music 2017", which took place inside the Acoustic Guitar Village in Cremona. He also performed in the first edition of the music showcase "Glocal Sound", presented by "Reset Festival", and has performed in various music festivals such as "Casole Guitar Festival", "Un paese a sei corde", "Festival Musicale Savinese", "Chianti Festival" and others. In November 2018, Tommy Emmanuel, the legend of fingerstyle guitar, invited him on stage to play during his concert in Florence. In June 2019 he won the last edition of the competition "L'artista che non c era 2019", joining the prestigious national audio library of the “CO2” project, created by Franco Mussida (Guitar player at PFM), whose aim is to share instrumental music in the various Italian prisons to make the individual affective structure stronger, encouraging inmates to enhance emotions and feelings through music. On the occasion of the release of the first album, Lorenzo's music was noticed by the prestigious Canadian record label CandyRat Records, which gave him the opportunity to share some videos on its Youtube channel. In January 2021 his first album "Carousel", produced by the record label Fingerpicking.net, was released.
